Una May delivers another fabulous day of song
We woke up to fairly thick snow over in my part of Lincolnshire and the phone ringing with people wondering if the workshop was cancelled.
But no, Una May was on her way over from Coventry in spite of the weather - and between 40 and 50 out of the 60 people who had booked, managed to get through the snow from various parts of Lincolnshire, Leicestershire and Northamptonshire for what can only be described as an Una May spectacular!
A bundle of energy from start to finish, Una May taught us about 8 songs - some from Africa and some from her Motown and Gospel collection. Mainly singing her own arrangements, we soared with Una May to emotional heights in freedom fighting songs from South Africa and wallowed in adoration and avarice in songs like "My Girl" and "Money". All achieved with seeming ease and much laughter!
A fabulous and inspiring day for us all.
We were very privileged to have Una May this year as she is taking a few months sabbatical from music comittments while she studies for finals in medecine. We wish Una May all the success she deserves in her new career but think she has the best tonic to all possible ills already to hand - one of her wonderful singing days!
