It's a Christmas Cracker
St. Mary's resounds to Global Harmony
Global Harmony’s Christmas Concert fills St. Mary’s Church
Around two hundred folks crowded into St. Mary’s Church on Saturday night to hear Global Harmony’s Christmas Concert in aid of the Cumbrian Flood Victims.
The choir gave the audience a rousing performance of songs from around the world, with a seasonal sprinkling of Christmas carols from Poland, Spain and America as well as some familiar English favourites. As always with a Global Harmony concert, there was an element of fun with novelty numbers and pop songs within the wide-ranging repertoire. The audience applauded loud and long and enthusiastically joined the choir for some singing and dancing as a finale.
A big thank you to those who gave so generously to the Cumbrian Flood Recovery Fund. The choir hope to be able to send a cheque for £1,000 to help the people in Cumbria. Refreshments, donated by choir members, were served in the interval.
Global Harmony will be performing again in the Spring and the choir is always interested in hearing of worthy community causes that might be able to benefit from a concert.
