GLOBAL HARMONY TO SING AFRICAN SONGS FOR AFRICAN CHARITY
Global Harmony, Melton’s much acclaimed world music community choir, is to perform at St Bartholomew’s United Church in Quorn on March 6th 2010 for the Leicester based charity, Inter Care.
Inter Care sends surplus NHS medicines from this country to sub-Sahara Africa. The charity helps over 100 rural hospitals and health clinics throughout Camaroon, Ghana, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Zambia by sending regular supplies of essential, basic medicines that would just be wasted in Britain.
Anyone who has attended a Global Harmony concert will know that the choir specialises in music from all around the globe but it does have a particular attraction to the wonderful rhythmic songs from Eastern, Western and Southern Africa. Global Harmony has put together a special programme featuring more African songs than usual for this occasion.
Global Harmony are delighted to have been booked to sing for Inter Care’s fund raising concert at Quorn - and Inter Care is equally delighted to have found a choir whose repertoire so perfectly fits the bill!
